We’re officially one month away from the big big BIG Day! *cue wedding march*
Everything is in place from the invitations, decor, favours to… eh wait? I think I might be forgetting something. My face!
It is still very undersupplied with moisture and radiance. I haven’t been the kindest to my face as I’ve been very involved with other wedding tasks.
And now, we’re only 30 days away. Just shoot me.
I’ve been rummaging through the internet for last minute bridal beauty tips and many of them suggested going to a reputable salon that understands the unique skincare needs of bride-to-bes.
This means no harsh products or invasive procedures at this time. Facials should also focus on more than just the T-zone and cheeks but other regions too such as the lips, eyes and even the neck. Most importantly, they should be able to treat multiple skin problems while giving your face the glow that speaks of happiness.
Aaah… Exactly what I need and hopefully sans a steep price tag too as most of our wedding fund is already channelled to our dinner banquet.
Guess what? My prayers were answered when My Cozy Room Boutique Spa invited me to try their Bridal Illuminating Premium Facial Treatment earlier this month! Woo hoo!
I tried the treatment and I must say, it ticked all the right boxes.
Now read on to find out why this particular treatment has won effusive praise from top bridal publications. πŸ™‚

Ladies (and gentlemen), please allow me to introduce to you – My Cozy Room Boutique Spa.

And here I am, checking into beauty rehab. πŸ˜›
Can’t forget my bridal gear, c/o My Cozy Room. Haha!
As you can tell from their fancy yet homey interior, the folks at My Cozy Room are extremely determined to create a holistic spa experience for their clients.
They also only use high quality beauty products from reputable skincare brands such as BABOR Skincare, Germany’s top professional skincare range.
In case you’re wondering, BABOR Skincare has been adopted by leading spas and beauty institutes in over 70 countries and are used in servicing first class patrons of Air Emirates, Lufthansa Airlines, Ritz Carlton Hotels and Four Season Hotels worldwide.

Before every treatment, My Cozy Room consultants conduct a thorough consultation with their clients to find out more about their current skin condition as well as skin care goals to ensure that treatments administered are appropriate and tailored to your individual needs.

And here I am with Celine, owner of My Cozy Room discussing the ideal treatment for my mositure-deprived skin.

On top of that, Celine also imparted valuable skin care knowledge so I can continue to care for my skin after the facial.

Sidetrack:

They are certainly sticking firmly to their Victorian theme. Check out this English tea cup that is so adorbs!

And now we head to this luxurious haven on the upper floor for my award-winning bridal facial. Whee!
Everything is so girly and pretty in here!
You know this is a full-fledged spa when you see a steam bath unit in your treatment room.

Now let the beauty bootcamp begin!
Actually, I’m more excited than this. Here’s a big fat grin to represent my real emotions. πŸ˜›
I had powder foundation on and my therapist of the day, Violet, kicked off the treatment by removing my makeup and massaging my face with BABOR 100-year patented cleansing oil ~ HyOL.
To ensure that my pores are totally free of makeup and debris, Violet performed another extensive cleansing routine with BABOR’s Phytoactive treatment essence.

And I went from this…

.. to this. Tired eyes, dull skin and fugly zits. Boo!

Save my skin, Violet!

First, she steamed my face to loosen the gunk in my pores, then she applied a plant enzyme mask to exfoliate the skin further.

Violet applied a plant enzyme mask for intensive peeling.

I thought my skin instantly perked up! Thanks for the magic touch Violet!

And now we proceed to the most dreaded part of a facial – EXTRACTION!

Violet said I’ve a serious clogged pores issue and this could be due to improper makeup/sunblock cleansing routines. Okay, I have to admit that I almost never removed my sunblock with a proper makeup remover. It’s always just water and soap. #Guiltyascharged

And now I suffer the ramifications of my laziness.

The pores were really red and puffed up after the treatment.

My blotchy skin after extraction.

I know I look like I might have been in a lot of pain but it was actually pretty bearable which is amazing for someone with a low pain threshold like me.

Violet did not use much force actually and I reckon it was the full cleansing procedure earlier that allowed the impurities to be easily drawn out of the pores. Kudos to that!

To prevent inflammation, Violet applied a tonic to disinfect the face, then she calmed the skin with this BABOR ampoule.

Apparently, this is not just any ampoule. Do you know BABOR was the inventor of ampoules and is also the largest manufacturer of ampoules? Hence you can be certain that their ampoules are of unparalleled quality.

BABOR ampoules are taken up by the skin eight times faster than a moisturiser. Manufactured by high-end liposome technology, the molecules of these plant-based ingredients are 8,000 times finer!

This particular BABOR Ampoule that they used on me regulates the skin’s natural oil and moisture
balance especially for dry skin lacking in
lipids. To top it off, it also strengthens the skin’s resistance to external
influences.

It is the perfect answer to my flaky, uneven and dull skin. It works to regenerate the upper layers of the skin while instantly creating a pleasantly smooth look and feel. The innovative Lipid Repair Complex, formulated with ceramides, white lupin and plantain effectively regenerates the lipid matrix and restores the skin’s protective barrier, which is essential for healthy skin. The complexion becomes smooth and supple again, making your skin feel like baby skin!

And the redness? Well, it kinda ‘went into hiding’ after minutes of applying the ampoule.

Come on, Don’t act like you’re not impressed. πŸ˜›

Next, Violet massaged my eyes and temples with these cold crystal devices to reduce puffiness and relax the eyes.

And now we’ve come to the star of the show…

Tadah!

Violet is now creating a special premium Alginate mask kit for a complete skin rejuvenating process.

To make sure that every feature on my face radiates from within, she also covered my eyes, lips and neck with this very moisturising mask.

The mask is heavily infused with Alpine Rose stem cells to combat aging and stimulate collagen production.

It felt very dewy on the skin and also oozes a soothing lavender scent which was absolutely relaxing for the mind and body.

After 20 minutes, Violet peeled off the multi-purpose mask.

And revealed fresh soft lustrous skin.

It was amazing. My skin and lips felt velvety smooth and the redness has faded. There was not a single trace of my battle with the zit extractor earlier.

Yay! No more tomato face!

Remnants of the facial. Haha!

Remember I mentioned earlier that the mask is ultra moisturising?

Erm.. I kinda kept the mask for a few days to prove my point. I stored it in a Ziploc bag and you can see below that it formed a liquid dew after a few days.

The mask still felt moist and damp to the touch.

Now do you believe me? πŸ˜›

Alright, no more mask inspection. Let’s go back to the facial. We’re not quite done yet.
Violet gave my face, hand and shoulders another soothing massage before she finished the treatment with a toner, moisturiser and sunblock.

Thank you Violet for your wonderful massages and of course your attentive service!

Whee! I’m ready to roll!

All in all, I had a great time at My Cozy Room. It was clear from the get-go that Celine and her team want your skin to improve and is absolutely adamant in making sure that you also enjoy the entire experience. I like their wholesome approach to skin care where only the best products and most effective treatment methods are used.

I actually had a laser treatment one week before visiting My Cozy spa and my skin was purging itself of impurities. Usually, it’ll take the pores about three weeks to be completely clear but the bridal facial seemed to hasten the process because my skin felt refreshed and smooth almost immediately after the treatment. Pretty amazing.

Of course, I do not recommend you to do the same after a laser treatment unless it’s with a reputable and experienced facial salon.

For My Cozy Room’s good knowledge for skincare and grade A products, 4 Honeyz crowns!

Thank you Celine for your warm hospitality! πŸ˜€
